Keen Targhee Toddler Shoes

We picked a pair of these Keens up while we were in Portland because we were going to need something a little sturdier and more water resistant for some hiking.  Great shoe, as with any Keen product we’ve come across.  Leather upper, quick ripcord tie system, great grip and traction, and, most importantly, a comfortable fit for all day use.  Can be a little hard to get on, each time I try I’m reminded of the shoehorn I keep meaning to buy.  But nothing too out of hand.

The Skinny:

  • USE – Does exactly what it should, but this model can be a little difficult to put on.
  • AFFORDABILITY – Not the cheapest shoe you’ll find, but it’ll last so you can get your money’s worth if you choose to (or sell them when you’re done, someone will scoop them up)
  • SIZE – These are wide, which works well with the snow shoes Santana calls feet.
  • SIMPLE STYLING – Simple, solid, and sharp. Look good in shorts or jeans.
  • SANITY – These are good shoes, period.

As with our other Keen shoes, we expect to be able to hand these down, as they are well built and a toddler isn’t going to wear them out.  In fact, I found these on Craigslist in Portland for $15.00 and they still look like new.  Perfect.
The Keen shoes we’ve gotten for the boys tempt me to explore their adult offerings next time we’re looking to replace hiking shoes.  Just well made, sharply designed shoes.

Retail price – $60.00
