Salty Seamen

Being in San Francisco, and at Lance’s apartment carried with it the air of the familiar, mixed with new adventure.  Not our first time in San Fran, but this time it’s different and I think it has something to do with having no address at the moment.  Where we are is where we are.  I know that sounds flip, but bear with me.  There is no other place right now.  We are untethered. What’s behind us is behind, and what lies ahead is unknown.  In experiential terms, we very much are where we are.  It feels comfortable here.  We’ve not arrived at our final destination but part of me feels as though we have and I want to be still for a moment, to absorb what surrounds us here.

I began by absorbing breakfast in Lance’s garden. That shit was gooood.

And if that wasn’t treat enough, Dan’s father, Fred, invited us to go sailing on his 36 foot sailboat.  What a country!

You’ll always be special to me Brooklyn Bridge, but the Golden Gate is one hot piece of bridge.

Foggy Golden Gate Bridge

Over the bridge into Sausalito and suddenly it’s sunny and clear.

The mate was a mighty sailor man

The skipper brave and sure….plus they let Sebastian man the wheel, which, for a pirate in training, was too good to pass up.

It Ain't the Hudson

"Eh. It Ain't the Hudson"

This view takes my breath away. The boats, hills, and fog ain’t bad either.

Thanks to Fred for taking us on an unforgettable sail.  Some men are made for the sea and you can tell Fred is one of those men.  I, on the other hand, can’t seem to sail without getting just a bit tender in the tummy.  No lost lunches, but I did find myself secretly wanting to be cuddled on solid ground.  Terra firma baby.  Get me on terra firma then look out!

Bonus Shot – “Charlie Do My Milk!”

Breast feed dog

Sebastian wants to breast feed everyone these days, and Charlie gets more than her share of the yummy goodness.
