Flew back to LA for two days to work a job dealing with new media, businesses, and governments using twitter to spread their message and networking’s role in today’s society. Interesting for someone who is sometimes conflicted about the ever increasing encroachment of technology into life and the sometime illusion of increased interaction at the expense of interaction with those in the room. And yet here I am blogging about a trip… A balance I suppose. There were some very interesting and eye opening speakers. Pretty Tweet.
Spent last several days on the coast and in Portland.
The coast is severely beautiful. Rough, powerful, seductive, dangerous. Kind of like Maverick in Top Gun.
If one were predisposed to such things, great for contemplative long walks. Or if your boys won’t sleep past 7am. Or both.

Bikers bikers bikers, and office buildings designed to accommodate them, not just with racks but locker rooms. Trains and buses – many of which are no charge within the downtown area. Healthy, good looking people. Great mix of urban and nature. Magnificent hiking within a half hour drive – and I do mean Discovery Channel level magnificent, you see the salmon running upstream to spawn as you hike. Music on the streets, original architecture, leaves changing color, rain…yeah, a good bit of rain. But they keep doing what they do. And it sure is green.
If that aint’ love then tell me what is……uh huh…..
