Take Us to Your Decider

I figured when I graduated from undergrad that I’d eaten at Golden Corral for the last time in my life, but there is a time and a place for everything it seems.
We’d spent 7.5 hours driving through the diversity that is West Texas, with only one stop for gas, and we needed a break. When I get a chance I’ll edit the videos we recorded of ourselves going coocoo in the car.
Originally we were to spend the night in Roswell, then head to Santa Fe in the morning, but we’d made good time and wanted to get to what was expected to be the great surroundings of Santa Fe as soon as possible, so why wait around in a hotel eating up precious time?  A bite to eat, a little alien interaction, then down the road.
Just one problem with that audible – I had intended for a little surprise for Sebi while we were in Roswell.  He’s been asking for a while now when he’d be old enough to watch a certain movie, so while in alien country we were going to watch Star Wars together for the first time. DSCN0922
I didn’t want to scratch that part of the plan, so we adjusted.  We had to eat, needed a place to plug in the laptop, and had to be able to camp out there for a little bit. Enter The Golden Corral Buffet.

We set ourselves up, settled in, and had a multi-course meal, sticking to the healthier offerings for the most part (ok, not really), while watching Star Wars. Sebastian couldn’t believe his luck – chicken with ketchup, peas, pasta, pizza, soft serve ice cream with M&Ms on top, and Star Wars?!?  Oh, hell yes.

Then we got to the bottom of a few things:

Hi guys! It’s Grandma just checking in with you. A Kick-Ass time for sure!!! I can’t stop myself from going to the computer every hour to see if there is some new adventure for me to read about and if there isn’t I just go back and look at the great pictures and stories over and over again. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of them. Jerry, thank you so much for allowing all of us to share in this important time in your lives.

    I love you.
